Enquiries from new players wishing to join the band are always welcome.

The standard of the band is generally not less than Grade 8. For section principals a standard beyond that of Grade 8 and experience of the Brass Band repertoire is required. Good sight-reading skill is also important.

In order to ensure the highest possible playing standards, to maintain a balanced ensemble and to maintain our current grading for contesting, Ocean Brass have adopted the following selection process for any applications to join the band.
